GLOW

About Us

Our Background

Girls Light Our World is an organization/ initiative based in Ekurhuleni East, specifically in , Kwa-Thema Township.
GLOW was founded by Noxolo Faith Nyathi in November 2018. The inspiration behind GLOW occurred when Faith saw the lack of female leadership in and around her community. She noted the high statistics of teenage pregnancy in the community and realised that the cause could lie in the lack of self awareness and self respect of teenage girls in the area.
She also felt that lack of skills and support systems were a contributing factor and resolved to change these aspects for these young girls if she could.
The organization now has 4 Full-time members and growing it's parnership with the community leaders.

Our Vision

Our Vision as GLOW is to have 500 girls between the ages of 14 to 18 years old, recognize their potential and maximize it to their fullest while they become individuals thy are independent in their finances, bold in their leadership and fearless in their challenges, without compromising on their self-awareness and their responsibility to care and nurture for themselves and others. We aim to reach these number of girls by the year 2027

Our Mission

By the end of each year a number of fifty female students from the ages fourteen to eighteen from the poor impoverished areas in Kwa-Thema in Springs will be equipped and developed in their physical, cognitive, emotional, language, self-image, social, moral normative, sexual, creative, aesthetic and religious aspect. In addition, we will expand the program to various areas in Ekurhuleni by hosting various activities and events.
